Our Story
March 2005 – The Beginning of Seahorse Diving
Seahorse Diving was born from a deep passion for the ocean and a dream to share Sri Lanka’s underwater beauty with the world. What started as a small local initiative in Unawatuna soon became a trusted name among both beginner and experienced divers.
October 2010 – Officially a PADI Dive Centre
We became a certified PADI Dive Centre, ensuring international safety and training standards for all our divers. This milestone marked the beginning of a new chapter of professionalism and excellence.
May 2014 – Expanding Experiences
We began offering a wider range of scuba diving courses, from beginner programs to advanced certifications, attracting divers from around the globe who wanted to explore Unawatuna’s vibrant coral reefs and marine life.
December 2017 – Community and Conservation
Our team started active participation in marine conservation projects, beach clean-ups, and coral restoration programs to preserve the breathtaking ecosystems we proudly explore every day.
July 2019 – Recognition and Growth
Seahorse Diving became one of the most recommended dive centers on the South Coast for its professionalism, friendly instructors, and commitment to eco-friendly diving practices.
March 2022 – Reopening After COVID-19
After the global pandemic, we reopened our doors with renewed energy and improved facilities—ready to welcome back our dive family from all over the world.
November 2023 – PADI 5 Star Dive Resort
Our dedication to excellence and safety was recognized as Seahorse Diving Unawatuna achieved PADI 5 Star Dive Resort status one of the highest ratings in the diving industry.
June 2024 – Introducing Free Diving Adventures
We introduced PADI Freediving programs, empowering divers to connect with the sea in the purest and most natural way.
